Born in
London I completed my studies/PhD at Nottingham University (Psychology specialising in Developmental and Cognitive Psychology). I came to Germany in
1999 to evaluate computer-supported cooperative language learning at the Fraunhofer Institute in Darmstadt.
After the birth
of my first child in 2003 I began teaching English on a freelance basis. At this time, the first Kids' Club came into being and I began to coach adults on a one-to-one basis. I very much enjoyed
this new career development.
The success of my
teaching activities led to the foundation of the "Little English School" in 2011. I have built up and successfully established a number of Kids' Clubs in pre-schools and primary schools and have
tutored pupils of various ages and abilities.
A number of my pupils have particular learning needs and require some degree of additional support. For example, dyslexia, attention deficit
and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and giftedness. I am therefore particularly interested in current research and new developments, which continue to inform my teaching in these
areas.
Since 2015 I have
been running courses for members of the Johannes Gutenberg University Central Adminstration as well as coaching adults on a one-to-one basis.
